Balicore Superintendent Holiday Luncheon: A Tradition of Appreciation

At Balicore Construction, the holiday season is a time to reflect on the year behind us and recognize the people who make our success possible. One of our most meaningful traditions that captures the spirit of our company culture is the Balicore Superintendent Holiday Luncheon, a gathering that celebrates the individuals who lead our jobsites every day.

Held at a longtime favorite Japanese hibachi steakhouse, the luncheon brings together our superintendents to share a meal, connect, and take a well-deserved pause during one of the busiest times of the year.

Where It All Began

This tradition started many years ago with Dave Hackbirth, who understood the importance of showing appreciation during the holiday season. When Balicore was much smaller, Ken began hosting a holiday luncheon specifically for superintendents. At the time, the group was small enough to gather around a single table, reflect on the year’s challenges and accomplishments, and simply enjoy time together. The idea was straightforward but meaningful: recognize the field leaders who carry the responsibility of managing projects, coordinating trade partners, maintaining safety, and representing Balicore on every jobsite.

A Tradition That Has Grown with Us

While Balicore has grown, the purpose of the luncheon has remained the same, to recognize and appreciate the superintendents and the broader team who play such a vital role in our success.

What began as a small gathering has evolved into a valued annual tradition, reflecting the strong sense of camaraderie and appreciation that defines Balicore. It’s a moment to step back, celebrate the year’s accomplishments, and acknowledge the dedication of those who make it all possible.
